Do I have to be a student?

• Yes, to join a Gamma Lambda Psi, you must be a current student at Lake Superior State University.

 

Do I get a bid just for showing up to one event?

• No, in order to be eligible to recieve a bid you must participate in at least half of Gamma Lambda Psi's rush events, although we hope to see you at as many events as you are able to attend.  

 

Does everyone get a bid?

• The purpose of Rush is to allow the brothers of Gamma to decide on the best fits for our organization. The reality is that not everybody who goes through Rush is the right fit for Gamma, but every effort is made to provide opportunities for involvement to any young man who is interested in the fraternity experience.

 

I’m older than the average college student going through rush recruitment. Can I still go through rush recruitment?

• Yes, as long as you meet the requirments of being a student, you may still go through rush. 

 

 

I’m an international student who will only be in America for a semester. Can I still join?

• All men who are fully matriculated as undergraduate students, as defined by the Lake Superior State University, are welcome to join. International students are more than welcome to rush the Gamma's.

 

I’m a sophomore. Should I bother going through rush recruitment?

• Yes, it does not matter your class standing you are welcome to go through rush. 

 

What is the new member process like?

• Gamma Lambda Psi has new member education program. The purpose of a new member program is to educate all new member on Gamma Lambda Psi values and its history. 

 

How bad is the hazing?

• Neither Gamma Lambda Psi nor Lake Superior State University condone hazing in any form. Gamma Lambda Psi has banned hazing. There is also Michigan Laws that protect students from being hazed. If you have any concerns about hazing, you should speak with LSSU Campus Life Office. Hazing can be reported anonymously at  1-888-NOT-HAZE (1-888-668-4293). 

 

How hard is it to balance fraternity life and academics?

• Everyone is different when it comes to time management. Gamma Lambda Psi works with all of its brothers to ensure that members balance both fraternity business as well as academics. Academics comes first in Gamma Lambda Psi and we will work with members to ensure that it stays that way. 

 

How does housing work?

• Gamma Lambda Psi does not offer housing.

 

How much does it cost to be a Gamma?

• Dues are currently set at $75 per semester. Gamma Lambda Psi will work with any member who is having trouble paying dues.
